Lastrada is a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience in music publishing, licensing, and rights management. We started as an independent label—championing a catalog that includes iconic artists like Zapp & Roger, The Whispers, Midnight Star, Shalamar, Brick, and William DeVaughn. As sampling became a staple of modern music, we saw firsthand how inefficient and fragmented the clearance process had become.
To manage our own catalog more effectively, we developed a structured, high-touch approach to sample clearance—streamlining everything from intake to execution. That system worked so well, our industry partners began asking us to run clearances for them too. Over time, what began as an internal solution quietly evolved into a full-service, white-label operation.
Today, Lastrada serves as an extension of the world's most respected labels, publishers, and songwriter and artist estates. We manage the full clearance process on their behalf—offering expert guidance on pricing and deal terms, fast and accurate coordination across stakeholders, and flexible involvement based on each client's preferences.
